Somewhere on YouTube right now, a Swedish blacksmith is forging a scythe anvil, a freediver is explaining how to hold her breath for six minutes, and someone is restoring a 400-year-old manuscript, one page at a time. You will never see any of it. Your recommendation feed decided months ago what you like, and it has been feeding you variations of the same thing ever since.

That's not discovery. That's a bubble.

What Unbubble does

Unbubble turns YouTube into a map you can wander. Every topic becomes a cluster of bubbles, sized by how big each video is in its niche, with the most-watched one in the middle. Around the edge float dashed bubbles: adjacent topics, one click away. Start at astrophotography and drift to astronomy, or sideways into night photography, then wildlife photography, and twenty minutes later you're watching a falconer train a hawk and wondering how you got there. That's the point.

The Teleport button skips the map entirely and drops you into a corner of YouTube your algorithm would never dare show you.

What Unbubble doesn't do

No account. No cookies of our own. No watch history. No engagement optimization. We don't want you to stay longer; we want you to go further. Videos play in YouTube's own player, so creators get every view and ad they'd normally get.

Who's behind this

Unbubble is a weekend experiment by Cédric Waldburger, built together with Claude. It exists because the best content on YouTube is almost never the content YouTube shows you. If people enjoy it, it will grow. If you have thoughts, say hi.
